Focus on what's important, and tune out the noise

At Feedly we've found that saving and organizing content around our most important goals is a great way to feed your team with high-value information. Plus, sharing smart, relevant stories with your team or professional network bolsters your status as a visible expert.

Sometimes you might feel overwhelmed by the volume of new stories in your feeds. There are important stories coming in, but it can be hard to keep up.

In this post, we’ve shared the five easy ways to save stories and feed your team with only the most high-value, relevant information.

Here are the 5 easy ways to save a story using Feedly Boards:

1. In your Feedly
If you find an important story while reading from within your Feedly on desktop, click the “Save to Board” icon:
Click on the board icon to open your list of Boards. If this is your first one, take a moment to give it a name. You can save a story to multiple Boards.
Pro tip: We find that the best Board names are specific and project-related. For example, a board just for stories about your competition’s new products; or a board for stories mentioning a client’s brand.

2. From anywhere on the web
We often stumble upon relevant and interesting articles while browsing our favorite blogs or news sites. Instead of copy-pasting into a spreadsheet, the Feedly browser extension makes it easy and quick to save a story to your Feedly Boards in two clicks.

3. From a Board using the “Add URL” button
Often somebody will send you a link to a story they’ve just read. When that happens there’s another quick way to save the story to a board just using the URL.
Copy the story URL, then open one of your Boards. Click the “Add URL” button at the top right of a Board, paste the URL in the box, and click “Save to Board.”

4. While reading in the Feedly mobile app
If you’re reading on the Feedly mobile app, tap the icon to save. You’ll be able to save the current story to one or more of your Personal and Team Boards.

5. From any other mobile application
Similar to #2 above, sometimes you’re reading on your phone using your favorite browser or app, and you find a great story to save to your Feedly.
When that happens, just click on the share icon, choose Feedly, and select the Boards where you want to put the story. This option requires that you have the Feedly mobile app installed.
Pro tip: If you have the Feedly app installed on mobile (Android or iPhone), the “Save to Feedly” option is automatically available in your device’s share menu.
