Change in Law: A Step Towards Brighter India

Rich in culture,

Rich in diversity,

Beautiful nature, and

Lovely people,

India is all about it. Though being forward in all these aspects, why does our country still lack that attention and dignity? The answer is crystal clear and simple, lack of honesty. Many people are not performing their duties with complete sincerity and seriousness. There are people for whom the law is just a mere piece of paper, and not practicality to be followed. Hence, we highly observe scenarios where if one breaks a signal, is caught cheating, or is committing a crime, are all dealt easily with the help of that cash stuffed in their pockets. People are highly disobeying the laws and regulations and feel free to do all the wrong deeds beneficial for them. This is accounted as one of the main reasons for our country lacking way back.

This immediately lowers the zest to work with honesty and each such action slightly pushes the country backward. Hence, laws that abide people of all sectors to work with honesty should be proposed. These laws should be strictly followed by government officials to encourage other people as well. Equal and strict punishment should be given to people who disobey the rule. The punishment should be equal for all may the person be a layman or a high-posted government official.

This won’t just make one feel serious about their work, but will also slowly slack off the wrong practices. It is time to take serious actions, and not just make them limited to a piece of paper. May it be a law for a positive change or punishment for the wrong, it should be equal for all. No discrimination based on the position of the individual in society should be considered under such circumstances. A proper team for the establishment of rules and to have a look at the rules properly being followed should be organized.

Though it’s saddening to say buy the moment people hear the word, ‘GOVERNMENT’ immediately words like laziness, procrastination, disloyalty, bribery, and various similar words, hit their minds too! But, when an individual needs work done by a private sector he is assured about the quality and time consumption. The same aura should be created by the government departments and officials by their honesty and work on time to make this country to be accounted in the front league.

A government department isn’t just limited to clerical and cubical office work. It also is a reflection of society. A good government and serious government officials can easily be identified in the form of good roads, working street lights, no bribery, and various other positive actions. The moment such instances are lacking one can identify the seriousness of the law body. Government should plan strategies to make the officials work honestly and take their jobs seriously just as employees of the private sector do.

For instance- If an area is facing bad road conditions resulting in multiplied flat tires and accidents, then the government should announce compensation for people who suffered due to such conditions. This won’t just create pressure on The Municipal Corporation of the area to make good roads, but will also make them realize their job responsibility.

Another reason contributing towards the deficit resources of our country is the improper person at the improper position. Government officials should be selected based on their caliber and proper education, rather than the bribery money offered to the panel, or any other reason apart from relevant experience and education of that field. Hiring the wrong person for the wrong job will be like appointing a dentist for a technical job which would only result in disasters and catastrophe.

Some people wish to help the needy ones. The same objective collectively works today in the form of NGOs. But have we ever given thought to the fact that do NGOs use the money they get for helping the needy? Hence, bringing a stop to such organizations will be beneficial for the country as well. These organizations are tax-exempted ones as well, hence they do not contribute towards the progress of the country. Instead similar departments should be formed by the government to help the needy directly without the interference of a 3rd individual or a body.

A country cannot prosper alone with the help of honest and hardworking government officials. It is a combined effort of such people along with sincere laymen. Until the practices like bribery, fraud, and various such wrong practices are stopped, the formation of huge policies and determination to follow them will be a waste of time. Hence, righteous works like paying tax on time, obeying all the rules, standing against the wrong, and being a part of the development of the country are what a layman should feel as his responsibility.
